The greatest book of all time

…Welcome to the roaring 20s – a time of struggle between the atrocities of WW1 and the pretences of the American Dream; the Nouveaux Riche and the Old Moneys; the Prohibition and the booming economy.

Set in NYC and Long Island’s North Shore, F. Scott Fitzgerald allows you to enter, if only for a short time, “The Jazz Age” and the flamboyant parties and affairs that came with it.

Baz Luhrmann’s adaptation (with Leo DiCaprio and the lovely Carey Mulligan) comes out on December 25 – surely the best Christmas present yet. The painful wait is even more unbearable thanks to the greatest trailer of all time..

And to conclude, the greatest quote of all time…

“Gatsby believed in the green light, the orgiastic future that year by year recedes before us. It eluded us then, but that’s no matter–tomorrow we will run faster, stretch out our arms farther…And one fine morning–So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.” – F. Scott Fitzgerald

  1. I’ve lined this up as the ball theme as I can’t actually wait until December. Obviously ball themes post-high school don’t really count apart from the ticket/Facebook event, but still, I’m pretty happy with it.
